Fire-Cooked Restaurant on Dartmoor National Park
Fire at the Heart of Every Dish
Our kitchen centres around one simple idea: exceptional ingredients deserve exceptional cooking.
Every service begins with carefully selected produce from trusted local suppliers. Grass-fed Devon beef, fresh fish landed in Brixham and seasonal ingredients are brought together over our signature Ox Grill, allowing fire to enhance rather than overpower each ingredient.
Menus evolve throughout the year, reflecting the changing seasons and the best produce available across Devon.

The Grill
Cooking over open fire demands patience, precision and respect for every ingredient.
The Ox Grill produces intense heat, subtle smokiness and remarkable flavour, allowing our chefs to create dishes that are both simple and memorable.
Guests often enjoy watching the theatre of the grill as steaks, seafood and vegetables move from flame to plate.
Grass-fed South West Beef
Our beef comes from trusted local farms where cattle graze naturally on Devon pasture.
Carefully aged before reaching our kitchen, every steak is finished over fire to highlight the depth of flavour that only exceptional provenance can provide.

Fresh Fish from Brixham
Only a short drive separates the moor from Brixham Harbour.
Fresh fish arrives regularly from one of England’s finest fishing ports, allowing us to celebrate the connection between Dartmoor and the South Devon coast.
Seasonal Menus
Every visit offers something different on our specials board.
Seasonal vegetables, locally sourced ingredients and daily specials allow our chefs to create menus that reflect the time of year and the landscape surrounding us.
